Rats!

While at the Lovely Giant one night you over hear two town guards talking about a local spree of thefts in the Slums. As the guards recount their leads and tales about the investigation you keep hearing them mention how many rats there are and how they should really clean up their act. I mean rats all over your store and you wonder why you get robbed?!

First four to comment with what characters they will be playing are in. Also if you want to make a new character just say so and I'll get together with you before then for char creation.

To Quell the Barbarian Queen

A Herald from the city of Frosthold was sent to the guild with a most dire request. Hammerbeard, Tribbing, Wagnor, and Lelland all set out immediately for the frozen city and within three days time they places their horses in the stable at Lord Hornerious Battlebeard's fortress. The great dwarven liege told the party that they had been under assault from a local band of barbarian's that had always been friendly to the city. They had been attacking trade caravans and looting all of the trade goods. There were reports of a strange woman who would watch the attacks and looting but never take action, just watching. Hammerbeard humbly asked the king if they could accompany a caravan so they could get to the root of this problem. The King said he would have something set up for the party. After a restful night the group loaded onto a decoy caravan and set off. Lelland decided to gain an element of surprise by hiding in one of the crates aboard the caravan. However when a young, but no less formidable, Frost Giant slamming into the snow infront of the adventurers there was little surprise to be had. Wagnor called up the arcane might of Melf's Acid Arrow and the acidic bolt dug deep into the blud giants abdomen. Hammerbeard quickly closed the distance with his ancestral foe and gave a mighty swing with the White Witches Woe. The Giant quickly dodged however and brought his great maul down heavily on the Dwarf Barbarian's shoulder. Enraged by being hit by such a lowly creature the Enthusiastic one blocked out the pain and dug his Greataxe deep into the creatures chest. Wagnor quickly bandaged Hammerbeard's shoulder and Tribbing's keen elven senses spotted a strange woman wrapped in animal furs on the ridge above. The woman disappeared and after some debate the team decided to keep on the trail. Soon after the group started moving again the Barbarian Queen appeared again. The party tried communication but she just sat there silently, watching. Suddenly a blinding snow storm rushed through the pass, when it subsided there a snow drift made a path up to the top of the ridge. The team hurried up the path and saw the Barbarian Queen walking in the distance. Wagnor began sprinting after her and just as he was about to grab her another snow storm blocked their vision and when it subsided the Queen was gone. However her tracks in the fresh snow were easy to find and fairly easy to follow. They lead to a cave in the cliff side and just as the team was about to enter, three barbarians rushed out screaming and bearing weapons. The White Witches' Woe thirsted for blood, and dodging around the spear stabs Hammerbeard decapitated the lesser wildman. Tribbing and another barbarian exchanged arrows, while Lemmy (who had been summoned through the Summoning Stones) went toe to toe with the sword and shield barbarian. Twilroc's Nevermiss Shortsword was true to it's name and struck true while his off handed hammer went wide. Seeing his defeat near the barbarian pulled a small leather bag from his belt and chucked it at the Paladin, a sticky substance covered Lemmy and quickly hardened. Three of Tribbing's arrows penetrated the barbarian's armor and as the last one pierced his heart the last of his blood spilled out onto the snow. Enraged at the damage done to his friends Hammerbeard swung his mighty ax, and it would have been blocked, but with a Half-Orc Wizard behind you it's hard to stay concentrated. The Axe lodged itself in the Barbarian's side, so deep that in order to get it out the mighty Dwarf placed his boot on the fool's shield and with a mighty tug freed his axe and some of the barbarian's organs. The group headed into the cave and soon found themselves in a great room. A great rock slab trapped them in and stepping seemingly from nowhere the Ice Queen appeared. Her eyes glowing white with power, she spoke with a voice not her own. Hammerbeard tried to talk sense to her but she would have none of it. However thinking quickly Tribbing ran up, and focusing his Ki was able to disrupt the muscle control the Ice Queen, stunned and unable to move the party surrounded her and was able to make short work of one who claimed to be more powerful than they could ever conceive. As her body lay on the cavern floor the power faded from her eyes and a new voice spoke from the frail body that lie before them. The Ice Queen was a young Seer for the Barbarian tribe, gifted with innate arcane powers from birth, she was sent to make contact with a White Wyrm who had moved into the area recently. She says that she remembers going to the Dragon's Lair but the next two weeks were a blur. Applying some first aid the adventurers decided to bring her back to town. As they left the cave, the sun's rays were blocked by a great shadow. Thundering to the ground below was the White Wyrm, with a hearty laugh he expressed his disappointment that they ended his little game so soon, but he assured them that they provided much more entertainment and that he'd be watching. Though there was not a cloud in the sky a snow storm came from no where and when it subsided the dragon was gone. The party delivered the Ice Queen to the king and he told them to rest up, and that the danger was gone for now.

Just wondering what everyone is looking like for winter break. I assume everyone will be home around the holidays but is anyone leaving for all/majority of the break? Wondering what play ability will be like.

So I'm glad we didn't play last night because being in the streets was crazy. Anyway, to those of you who are currently adventuring, how would you guys feel about playing after 10ish on thursday or sometime friday? To those of you who aren't adventuring, tell me what your chars have been doing. Anything exciting?

To Quell the Barbarian Queen

It's been a few days since you've announced yourselves as a new guild. On morning though a knock comes on the door of the guild. A Dwarven Messenger explains that he has been sent by the King of Frosthold, a city to the North near the base of the World's Spine Mountains. The King request an adventuring party to travel to Frosthold and help deal with a local barbarian tribe that has been attacking the local trade routes.

(First four to comment with what character they will be using play. Shooting for Tuesday if that works for everyone. Also, post suggestions for a guild name.)

New Chars

These are the three Adventurers who you meet at the party and liked.

Thofalcon Seaskipper (Halfling Rouge 1/ Druid 1)
Thofalcon was orphaned at a very young age and he either ran away or was kicked out of many orphanages around town. He finally found a family with a rough gang of Half-Orc thugs in Delgall. While they were never more than a street gang of kids Thofalcon had his fair share of run ins with the law. One time he was not so lucky as he had previously been and after carving their names into some of the trees in the park he was caught by a local druid. The druid took Thoflacon back with him and made him live in the forest. He quickly came to appreciate the ways of this strange druid and he began to learn the druidic ways under his captor's tutelage.

(Thofalon is working toward the Prestige Class Dagger Spell Shaper. He fights with a dagger in each hand.)

Olotiln Warstout (Dwarf Paladin 3) and Kevdak Warstout (Dwarf Ranger 1)
Olotiln and Kevdak are brothers. The lived in a small clan of dwaves near the World Spine Mountains. However their subterranean home was invaded by undead and nearly all of the clan perished. Olotiln and Kevdak were able to escape and moved to Delgall. Olotiln became a paladin so that he could learn to protect others and champion against undeath. Kevdak's hatred for the undead however has driven him down a less noble path than his brother. Kevdak will follow any word of undead in the area regardless of how out matched he obviously is.

House party

The party settles into their new home and beings to prepare for the house warming party. Criers are sent into town to announce that a New Adventuring guild has arrived and they wish to invite all of the town to come meet them. They also wish to meet any adventurer who believes they are worthy enough to be invited to the (Guild Name). As each of you go into town over the next few days to explore, drink, and do various errands you hear that the town is abuzz with the prospect with a new guild close to town as well as the party. With two days before the party Arroway sends a messenger with the details of the night's feast. The list details enough Wine, Mead, Bread, and other previsions to feed an army, among which is the main course, Roast Dire Boar, a 12 foot long 2000lbs leviathan. The morning of that party a few members of the local Mage's Guild arrive at the house and, in a gesture of good will, offer to magically light the outdoor area and provide entertainment for the night. As the sun begins to set Arroway arrives with a small caravan of wagons. He heartily greets the adventurers once more and with a simple whistle people begin to pile out of the wagons scurrying about setting up the night's feast. A great fire is lit and out from one of the wagons comes the gargantuan boar, held aloft by twenty or more men, all of them struggling under it's immense girth. Within an hour it seems as though half of the town has arrived for the party. Bards wander about singing songs and telling stories to all those who will listen, a few Wizards meander about performing magic tricks and spectacular illusions. Everyone is having an amazing time. Many would be adventurers come up to each of you expressing their interest in the guild, however there were really only three who stuck out in your minds. You all party, eat, and drink well into the next morning. The dire boar is picked clean, the cask filled wagon is nearly dry, and a few of the towns folk are passed out on the lawn by the time everything winds down. While Arroway sent his team of cooks and helpers away after they'd cleaned up he stays and drinks a few more flagons with the adventurers. Those too drunk to go home are brought into the house and put in the Barracks, and as Arroway finally departs, he tells you to come by the tavern in a few days to settle up the bill. The next morning all of you wake up in your rooms with splitting headaches and a new friend next to you in bed. It was a great party.

Reading Days

Oh so I just remembered that Thur and Fri (16th and 17th) are reading days. Is anyone going home/working those days/nights? I say we def try to play atleast one of those days, in addition to tues.

Lets do this shit bags.

Hey guys, so would everyone be down for playing tomorrow night? 8ish? Cory's? Or if you guys want we could come over to my house. Either way, I'll try to set this up so you guys can make posts too but I'm pretty sure you guys can at least make comments. Either way if this works out like I want it to this is where I'll be posting updates on adventures and other things that I deem important.

So from now on when I post that an adventure is up the first four people to comment, including what character they want to play with, are the ones who get to go on the adventure. So say for the next one Jake, Nate, Cory, and Stephen say they want to do it. When I'm ready with the adventure after that I'll text or call Ted and Stephen to let them know so they have a bit of a jump on everyone else. I'm going to do it like this so that it's not the same four people doing all the adventures. Then again though, if there are enough characters for a second group and everyone wants to work out another night to play I could probably work that out.

So Collin Bailey (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=25504084) and Nick Dahm (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=25501456&ref=ts) have expressed interest in joining the guild. We can do this however you guys want to do it, we can just do a secret vote, majority rules, have him go through some kind of trial, invite him along for a night then decide. We can talk about this more tues but I just wanted to get you guys thinking about it. Also if anyone wants to make a new char to play with for an adventure or two that's totally cool, that's one of the reasons I wanted to do the whole guild thing. This way we can have extra chars chillin at the guild for people to try out with or as alts.

So Tuesday (or next time we play) you're going to have that house party, another easy night. This would be a great chance to meet some local adventurers and try to get them to join the guild. You also need to think of a name and an insignia as well as any other stuff you guys wanna do to set your guild apart. I'm brewing something up for your next adventure so we can jump back into it after this week.
